When I opened the product I thought I had made a huge mistake because the razor had two small Olay bars around the blades of the razor. The last product I had used like this had broken my legs out. I decided that I would give the product a try anyway after all this experience had been years ago and was not an Olay product. The razor was very easy to use. Just wet the bars and shave. There was no need for shaving gel or cream and the sugarberry scent was totally awesome. The razor shaved smooth and I did not have any irritation. Along with the great razor the package had also included a suction cup holder which helped the razor to dry and not waste and smear the olay bars.
What I did notice is that the Olay bars were wearing down pretty quick. At the rate of first use I would estimate that you might get 3-5 shaves out of a cartridge depending on how many times you rinse the razor in the water. This is only an estimate and I have no idea how long a cartridge will actually last. This and the cost of refills are the only down side that I can find to this product. They are very easy to find if you wish to purchase your own, I bought mine from Walmart. I am sure this was one of the cheaper places than a CVS, Rite Aid, or Walgreens but I would expect you could find this product at these locations as well. I have not noticed if the Dollar Store or Family Dollar.
This is my low down on the Gillette Venus & Olay razor. I would give the product an overall 9 stars because of the products performance, ease of use, ease of purchasing, and overall quality. It missed the 10 mark because I feel the cartridges may not be as good a value as those for some of the competitor razors.
